Champions Sports Performance & MARA 8-Week Speed Clinic

Champions Sports Performance, home of the Parisi Speed School, is proud to partner with the Matthews Athletic & Recreation Association (MARA) for an 8-week Speed & Agility Clinic!

This clinic is coached and led by a Certified Parisi Speed School coach. The Parisi Training System has trained over 1 million athletes to improve their athletic skills. With 100+ locations in the United States and worldwide, Parisi Speed Schools use a curriculum based on science and sports psychology to help every athlete reach their potential. The Parisi mission is to remain the industry leader in performance training and deliver a positive training experience that improves the speed of movement and strength in character regardless of ability or economic status.

The 8-Week Speed & Agility Clinic is another revolutionary approach by our Founder Bill Parisi and incorporates four fundamental approaches that have proven to be game-changers for coaches. Our unique program covers the following:

  • Acceleration

  • Max Velocity/Top Speed

  • Speed Endurance

  • Running Mechanics

  • Lateral Speed & Agility

  • Flexibility & Mobility

  • First Step Quickness

  • Power Development

We accomplish this through a curriculum that is broken down into 4 sections:

  • Active Dynamic Warm-up - The cornerstone of our program, this true warm-up focuses on specific exercises and choreographed maneuvers during dynamic muscular movement to increase body core temperature and blood flow.

  • Movement Skill Methods - This phase is focused on the four areas important to a strong foundation: deceleration, acceleration, change of direction, and maximum speed.

  • Strength and Power Development - Also focused on four areas, this phase targets the muscular and nervous systems to create strength, power, and stabilization throughout the body.

  • Total Conditioning - The final phase of our program is focused on athletes who want to reach an athletic potential that they may not be aware exists within themselves by extending a lot of power over extended periods.

Athletes will be tested and re-tested on their:

  • 40 yd dash

  • Broad Jump

  • 5/10/5

  • 200 yd shuttle
